Lets get it started...

In the wake of my recent move to San Francisco and trying to get over this mini-rut in my workouts, I have decided to run a half-marathon. I am going to conquer this whole I am not a runner-thing once and for all. I keep looking back to my freshman year of college where I was feeling awesome and running an hour a day on the treadmill (it was winter time of course)... And then I think, I am 22 years old and already feeling like I need to look back on the good ol' days. Unacceptable and time to make some changes...

Now this past week I have started the difficult task of forcing myself out of my gym and onto the road so that I can figure out how hard this is actually going to be. Let me tell you... this is going to be hard! I am at about 4 and a half miles of what I like to call "w-ogging", basically a combo of jogging and walking (previously called "r-alking" but someone came up with this today and I like it better). The mountains as I like to call them, hills isn't a strong enough word, are really not helping the situation. So in order to make myself accountable and to really make this an experience I have decided to create this blog. My plan is to talk about how I kick this running thing in the butt one mile at a time and how this is going to affect my life as a whole. Friends, family, random people that read my blog, get excited and hopefully this will inspire you too!
